Inclusion in Education


Mainstreaming in education - Mainstreaming in education, also known as inclusion, is the process of grouping disabled students with general education students in the classroom. In theory, this method is supposed to bring up the students at lower levels while encouraging leadership roles from the higher level students.

Tertiary education - Tertiary education, also referred to as third-stage or third level education, is the educational level following the completion of a school providing a secondary education such as a high school, secondary school, or gymnasium. Tertiary education is commonly higher education which prepares students for a quaternary education.

Sesame Street - Sesame Street is an educational television program designed for preschoolers, and is recognized as a pioneer of the contemporary standard which combines education and entertainment in children's television shows. Sesame Street is well known for the inclusion of the Muppet characters created by the legendary puppeteer Jim Henson.

Catalan education system - The actual Catalan education system (according to the LOGSE) are classified like this: general regime (children's education (educació infantil), primary education (educació primària), secondary compulsory education (ESO), batxillerat, formació professional de grau mitjà i de grau superior (technical college) and special regime (artistic studies and language studies). Education is compulsory between six and sixteen years.
